Artushenko |
Ekaterina Artushenko paints highly realistic still-life images in oil. Her exquisitely rendered work is the result of many years of training; the subject matter is drawn from the classical and sometimes Romantic imagery we have come to expect from Russian artists. Her paintings have been shown in exhibitions in London and Moreton-in-Marsh, England, as well as in Canada.
Born in Russia in 1960, Artushenko gained her art training in St. Petersburg and worked for several years as an art restorer at the Hermitage Museum. She left the U.S.S.R. in the early 1990s, settling initially in Newfoundland. She now lives and works in Montreal, and continues to send new paintings to the Emma Butler Gallery.
