Praised by other artists as “world-class art,” Evguenia Ioganov’s exquisite miniature works have been exhibited in Canada, the United States, and England, and are in many private, corporate, and public collections. Her meticulously detailed oil paintings have been awarded prizes in international competitions; her honours also include representing Canada in the Cultural Program of the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan (1998).
Ioganov was born in Omsk, Russia, in 1958. After junior art school she studied art in St. Petersburg for a further ten years, at the college and post-graduate level. She completed her Master’s degree in Theatre Art in 1984, then returned to her birthplace to take up work as a Master Artist at the Omsk Theatre.
Evguenia Ioganov immigrated to Canada in 1991. She lived in St. John’s until 1997, working as an independent artist, and now lives and continues to paint in Vancouver.
