This exhibition showcases a diverse tapestry of Ting Ting's captivating photography-based visual art, a collection that seamlessly weaves together portraiture and landscapes. Within these carefully curated works, Ting Ting explores the nuanced interplay between individuals and their surroundings, bridging the gap between past and present, and delving deep into the essence of self. Ting Ting's artwork transcends mere visual stimulation; it serves as a profound narrative journey. Illuminating scenes and visions through a lens of uniqueness and mystery, her art unveils worlds of untold stories, inviting us to explore the depths of her vision and, in turn, our own selves.
Ting Ting Chen is a visual artist based in Newfoundland and Labrador. Her work has won multiple prestigious international art awards, including overall winner in the 18th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards and first place in the portrait category in the 9 th Fine Art Photography Awards. She was shortlisted in the Royal Photographic Society's International Photography Exhibit 164, and a silver winner in the 2021 International Photography Awards. Ting Ting was a finalist for the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council's Artist of the Year in 2023 and she is currently short-listed for Emerging Artist of the Year, 2024. Her book, Impressions of Newfoundland: The Art of Ting Ting Chen (Breakwater, 2023) has been short-listed for the 2023 Foreward Indie Book Awards. Ting Ting's work has been featured in magazines and books published in Europe and North America, and displayed in solo and group exhibits in Spain, Germany, France, Hungary, Japan, and the US.
