Plastic Shorelines

Shane Dwyer is a contemporary painter in St. John's whose work responds to social, cultural, and industrial presences in the landscape. While studying at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in the late 90s, he began developing his signature style, which uses layered acrylics and mixed media on surfaces such as paper, canvas, and Mylar. A four-time Arts and Letters Award winner, Shane's exhibition history spans 30 years, with more recent group exhibitions at the Newfoundland and Labrador Craft Council and The Rooms. His current work explores the impact of plastic pollution on Newfoundland's oceans and shorelines.
